Arsenal ready to launch £50m bid for Uruguayan

According to the Express, Arsenal are ready to launch a huge £50m bid for Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani to lure him to the Emirates in the absence of Olivier Giroud.

Giroud suffered a suspected broken foot in the closing seconds of Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Everton last weekend. Arsene Wenger has seen his striking options are depleted and is ready to make an audacious bid to bring in Cavani to London.

According to reports in France, Wenger is determined to sign Cavani before the end of the window, with a £50million bid believed to be in the works.

Cavani, who had been tipped earlier in the transfer window to join Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United, is rumoured to be unhappy at the Ligue 1 side with Zlatan Ibrahimovic taking centre-stage, and although the Uruguay international is prepared to give his PSG career one more season, an offer from Arsenal could be too good to turn down.

Cavani would be a like for like replacement for Giroud who could be out until 2015 with a broken ankle. Tall, strong, powerful and a goalscorer. Cavani would be a threat leading the line for the Gunners, it’s just a case of whether Wenger is willing to splash the cash and land the striker.

Arsenal fans, would you welcome Cavani to the Emirates and would you pay £50m?

If you think Arsenal will sign Cavani, you are dreaming. Wenger will not sign Carvani at all, he is not the type of a players Arsene Wenger need. To say the truth, do not write any news about Carvani going to Arsenal, they will not pump out such a huge amount for someone who is at that age. Not with Arsenal they will never ever do that. You guys should know what Arsene Wenger does his things. Mind you Arsene is not not just a choach, he is an Economist, who spend most of his years working in Laboritories. So for you to think an Economist like Arsene Wenger will pay that size of money is a dreaming, which will never come true.
