Wenger – new signings for Arsenal, but probably not a striker

Earlier today Arsenal hosted a pre-match conference before this Sunday’s match against Leicester. However Arsene Wenger has kept his mouth shut about any signings and saying “all [transfer negotiations] need to be as secret as possible”

Wenegr has also crushed rumours about signing a replacement striker.

He has said “I will be actively involved on deadline day. I will be on alert until the last minute.”

So will Arsenal bring in another player or two to the team before the end of the transfer window closes? “Probably.”

On the subject of strikers he announced, “we have Sanogo, we have Sanchez, we have Walcott, we have Podolski.”

Arsene also said, “we have shown in the past two season, that if there are [players to buy] we will do it.”

This probably means that a replacement for the injured Giroud is not happening, and Wenger will be sticking to what he has in his arsenal for now.

Wenger has announced that both Arteta and Gibbs won’t be playing against Leiscter this Sunday, however Ramsey will be taking part in the match.

Gunners manager has also said he has faith in defender Calum Chambers saying, “he has the character to deal with [his first call up]”

Overall it seems as though Wenger won’t be adding any forwards to his team. He appears to be pretty happy with his current team
