Manchester United striker, Robin Van Persie has offered a warning to Radamel Falcao that walking into the first team may not be as easy as first presumed.

Despite the Colombians impressive goal-scoring record, Falcao has also walked into one of the stronger looking attacks in the Premier League; with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria. What makes it harder for Falcao is that Wayne Rooney has since been elected the new captain of Manchester United and England, additionally, Robin Van Persie is in favour with fellow countryman and former international manager, Louis Van Gaal.

Someone of Falcao’s stature would presume he would start near enough every game, however, unless Van Gaal opts to change his interesting philopophy and tactics, it seems the Colombian may have to bide his time.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Van Persie offered his congratulations to Falcao on his new move, but hinted it won’t be easy.

“I welcome his arrival, he makes us better.”

“At a top club you should always go for the best, which also fits my philosophy. Falcao must fight for his place, as I also have to.”
