Chelsea are rumoured to be chasing young Brazilian attacking-midfielder Anderson Talisca from Benfica. The Daily Star believe Chelsea could return to do business with the Portuguese club from whom they purchased David Luiz and Nemanja Matic.
The 6ft 2in, 20-year-old Talisca only joined Benfica this summer from Brazilian club Bahia where he had made 30 first team appearances. He had been at the side since 2009 and they earned a €4m fee from his sale, this is looking a bargain though for the Portuguese giants who are now top of the league. Talisca has scored 5 goals in his 6 Primeira Liga games and he has already secured the Portuguese Super Cup.
Chelsea are now very tempted to make a move for the youngster before his price escalates any further and he would be in good company with a number of Brazilians or Portuguese speaking players already in residence at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea boss José Mourinho said of Talisca’s transfer: “I think Benfica hired well. They say Talisca is unknown, but he is only so unknown because he’s only not playing in England because he doesn’t have a work permit. If he had one, he would be here!”
The Brazil U20 international certainly has a full international career ahead of him, do you think Chelsea would be smart to secure his signature?
