Tottenham Hotspur have been looking around world football to add to Mauricio Pochettino’s forward options but now it seems they have a target. TalkSport believe that Spurs will now bid for Fiorentina’s young Croatian Ante Rebić.

Tottenham are rumoured to be ready to let £26m flop Roberto Soldado leave the club with Serie A and La Liga clubs both interested in the Spaniard. Pochettino has favoured young England U21 international Harry Kane and the experienced Emmanuel Adebayor this season but would love to add another player to his front line.

Rebić is a 6ft 1in striker who is currently on loan at 2. Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. He is at the German second tier side following a tough time in Italy with Fiorentina last season after making the €4.5m move to the side. The move came in August 2013 and that was after Premier League interest from Tottenham before but Rebić is now seeking to make a name for himself playing regular football rather than sitting on the bench.

Rebić has played for the Croatian full side 8 times, scoring once and was actually sent off in the 2014 Brazil World Cup against Mexico this summer. It was understood that Tottenham Hotspur had scouts watching him as he played against England for the Croatia U21s for who he has 7 caps and 4 goals. The questions remains though, will Ante Rebić be of the quality to make an impact in Spurs’ Premier League campaign or does the 21-year-old need more development?
