Manchester United’s ploy to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has been dealt a blow as the Italian giants look to cash in on a bidding war. The Daily Express understand that the price being asked is now upwards on £48m for the 27-year-old.
Manchester United and Louis Van Gaal spent most of the summer trying to convince Juventus’ Arturo Vidal to leave the Serie A and join them at Old Trafford. However, they failed to agree a deal with the Chilean who was happy in Turin but now Juventus are willing to cash in on Vidal and they will be seeking to do business with the highest bidder.
Vidal joined Juventus in July 2011 from German club Bayer Leverkusen. He had played 117 Bundesliga games for the club and was then sold on for €10.5m where his reputation grew on a continental scale as well as on the international stage. Vidal has played 101 Serie A games for Juventus winning 3 league titles and a Supercoppa Italiana, impressing as a holding midfielder.
The Express believe that Real Madrid are willing to do a player exchange for their German midfielder Sami Khedira who would satisfy I Bianconeri as a replacement for their 54 time capped Chilean who was a star at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Manchester United fans, do you believe you can secure the services of Arturo Vidal? Is £48m too much to pay?
