Arsenal fans will be hurting inside after reports from Spain suggest that transfer target, Munir El Haddadi looks set to stay at the Camp Nou despite reports suggesting he is favouring a move to the Emirates.
The Barcelona youngster as been widely tipped as a future star in the game and it was believed that Arsenal were set to snap up the Spaniard. However, today reports from the Express suggest that any deal looks to be dead in the water. But why?
Well, new Barca boss Luis Enrique is said to be an admirer of Munir’s talent as it set to hold talks with the youngster regarding his future at the club. Enrique wants Munir to remain at Barcelona and join the lengthy list of sensational talent in the squad.
Reports suggest that the Spanish youngster has a £9.4m release clause in his contract, something that Wenger and Arsenal were looking to activate in the summer. However, with the Catalan’s efforts to embed Munir into their first team already, he looks content to stick around as he aims to emulate the success of former youth prodigy Lionel Messi.
