North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to do battle over Birmingham City’s young winger Demarai Gray. The Sun believe that Gray will cost the winner around £2m.
The 5ft 10in 18-year-old has become an important player for manager-less Birmingham City this season, featuring in 10 of the Blues’ 13 opening Championship fixtures. Whilst Birmingham sit in 21st place out of 24 and saw Lee Clark depart this week, Gray’s reputation is growing quickly as a number of Premier League clubs track the hot prospect.
Gray earned 3 caps for England Under-18s before being moved up to the Under-19s this season for their friendly tie against Germany. Gray will know he has some big decisions to make should Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur agree a fee with his local side Birmingham as any move away from regular football could stunt his potential ability developing.
The 2013/14 Birmingham academy player of the season is another future full England international who has the future hopes of a nation resting upon his shoulders. Do you think Demarai Gray could be a Premier League superstar of the future?
