Out of contract full-back Ignazio Abate is said to be seeking pastures new once his contract at A.C. Milan runs out and Liverpool are looking to the Italian as the ideal replacement for Glenn Johnson.
Johnson is also out of contract and is said to be looking for a move away from Anfield and Italy has been a potential destination. Meanwhile, with Abate out of contract, Rodgers may be inclined to place a bid in January as the Reds continue to leak goals.
According to the Mirror, the 27-year-old Italian is ready to make a move to Liverpool and ply his trade in the Premier League. After failing to agree a new contract with the Italian giants, Abate’s career at the San Siro looks to be all but over.
Will Liverpool look to capture the full-back in January or risk waiting until the summer where they can get him on a free transfer?
