Chelsea are dominating the Premier League this season, picking up an impressive 26 points out of a possible 30 since the campaign began. However after the 2-1 weekend win over QPR, manager José Mourinho took to criticising the Stamford Bridge support for being particularly quiet.
The Daily Mirror now carry quote from Mourinho’s pre-match Champions League press conference where he admits: “maybe I go a little bit too far.” Mourinho shot to fame after winning the Champions League in 2004 with Portuguese giants Porto, this led him to be chased by Roman Abramovich to take the helm at Stamford Bridge. He joined in June 2004 and would stay in England till September 2007 where he won 2 Premier League titles, an FA Cup, 2 League Cups and an FA Community Shield.
Mourinho then spent time in Serie A with Italian club Inter Milan before taking one of the biggest jobs in football, Real Madrid. He was a controversial figure at every team he managed and has criticised fans in the past for failing to support the side on the pitch. It seems now though he is genuinely apologetic for any offence caused as Chelsea fans rush to defend themselves and criticise the club for their high ticket prices.
Mourinho told the assembled press: “Even a moment of criticism has to be analysed with different eyes, with the eyes of somebody who knows why I came back to Chelsea and why I’m here with my heart and why I want to stay for a long long time. I am just somebody who loves football a lot. I love my job. I am lucky to do my job in the club I like so much and feel such a connection and maybe that makes me lead the club with a different emotion… Maybe I go a little bit too far. But I see myself in the stands, watching Chelsea and I want to play, I want to help.”
Mourinho is passionate about Chelsea and claims to love the club, from these comments you can see that is the case!!
