Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has admitted defeat and insists that the title belongs to Chelsea already, despite just turning November. Chelsea remain unbeaten in the Premier League so far and Wenger fears the title is theirs.
Wenger’s comments came as a result of his sides 2-1 away defeat at the hands of Swansea in yesterday’s Super Sunday clash. Arsenal had taken the lead, but Swansea hit back late into the game to take all 3 points.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wenger said,
“Look at the season and Chelsea are on course for 105 points,” said Wenger.
“Look at the number of points they have today and if they keep that up nobody will touch them, that’s for sure. It doesn’t look like anybody is capable of challenging them at the moment. There’s no obvious reason, but they have had a good start and as long as you don’t lose you don’t question yourself. Maybe a little bit more extra spirit in the team helps them when it gets tight.”
Wenger seems to have given up hope of challenging for the title, but can Chelsea match Arsenal’s invincible season? Can they go an entire season without tasting defeat?
