Could Manchester City be about to make an outstanding £60m bid for Everton and England sensation, Ross Barkley? The 20-year-old has been tipped as one of the brightest players of the current era and is set for a huge career.
Barkley was complimented by Barcelona skipper Xavi for his undoubted talents and the Spaniard revealed that Barkley would easily make the Barcelona side if he was to join. However, Barkley has just penned a new four-year-deal at Goodison Park. Despite putting pen to paper, Premier League champions, Manchester City are reportedly ready to launch a huge £60m bid to lure him away from Everton according to the Manchester Evening News.
City are looking to sign younger talent who can be apart of a long term future at the Etihad. Manchester United and Chelsea were both linked with Barkley last season but it appears Manchester City are serious about snapping up the youngster.
In spite of their interest, I find it highly unlikely that Barkley will leave Goodison after signing a new deal with the club. The team whom he has been a apart of his whole life, his boyhood club where he is playing first team football. England fans will not want to see Barkley sitting in the reserves picking up a huge wage packet; they will want him in the limelight and at the fore.
For me, Barkley should stay and see out his contract. Everton is a fantastic club who are growing all the time, it is definitely an exciting challenge at Goodison.
