Roberto Mancini has returned to Inter Milan to coach the side where he saw such success between 2004-2008 but he could be set to lose one of his star players. The Daily Express think Chelsea or Liverpool could be on the verge of a big bid for the Argentinean.
Maurco Icardi spent his youth career at a number of clubs, including Barcelona but was then loaned out to the Sampdoria academy before making his move permanent. Icardi broke into the side’s first team and the striker played a total of 33 Serie A matches for Sampdoria, scoring 11 times.
Icardi moved to Inter Milan for the 2013/14 campaign and the now 21-year-old continued his development in the game. He appeared in 22 Serie A fixtures for Inter, scoring 9 times. This season his form has been outstanding as he has netted on 7 occasions in just 11 Serie A ties. Despite his clear importance at the San Siro it seems that reports in Italy suggest Roberto Mancini is willing to let the forward go.
Chelsea and Liverpool would both be suitable destinations for the Argentinean who made his full international debut in October 2013, winning just the one cap so far. For the move to take place this summer a mega fee of £28m has been suggested. I for one would love to see Icardi in the Premier League but where will he end up? What do you think?
