Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva is set to be frustrated at the lack of first team football he has been getting. The Brazilian, has been linked with a move away from Anfield in January and Italy is the reported destination according to the Daily Star.
Former Liverpool boss, Rafa Benitez is now in charge of Italian side Napoli, a club rumoured to be interested in snapping up the midfielder. The player’s agent Henrique Coelho said: “Is it possible for Lucas Leiva to leave Liverpool in January? Yes, naturally.
“Lucas really likes Benitez. After all, the two know each other well.”
Benitez who is enduring a tough time of late at Napoli will be hoping to bring in quality and assurance to the side in the new year, something that Lucas has in abundance. Lucas has been in and out of the Liverpool side since arriving in 2007 from Gremio. Is his time at Anfield coming to a close?
Liverpool themselves have been struggling under Brendan Rodgers this season and Lucas may yet be given an opportunity to once again prove his worth to the Merseyside club.
Should Lucas leave Anfield in January?
