Aston Villa striker, Darren Bent is set to temporarily end his nightmare stint at Aston Villa with a loan move to Championship side, Brighton according to reports from the Express.
The former England poacher has been unable to break his way into the first team at Villa Park and is now expected to join up with Brighton in the next 48 hours on loan. Ben joined Villa in 2011 for £24m and hit the ground running. However, goals dried up and as a result so did his game time. Now seen as surplus to requirements, the former Charlton striker is set to ply his trade in the Championship.
Bent will join former Liverpool hero, Sami Hyypia’s side who are just outside of the relegation zone on goal difference, but will Bent be able to make a difference in his short stay?
A player who was touted as one of the brightest English talents has seen his career fade in before his eyes. The 30-year-old will be hoping this can kick start a late revival in his career.
Is Bent still a top quality striker?
