Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keeping tabs on England U21 and Norwich City starlet, Nathan Redmond according to the Pink’un. A rumoured bid of £10m is said to be in the offing, but will it turn into reality in January?
Redmond was in the limelight over the summer with rumours circulating the former Birmingham City winger that he was subject to bids from Stoke and Southampton, all of which were merely rumours. However, Liverpool’s recent slump as meant that Rodgers will be seeking out improvements in his squad come the new year. Redmond has been labelled a future England star and the Norwich City winger could be tempted with a move to a club with such prestige such as Liverpool.
Canaries boss, Neil Adams has once again stated his policy on letting players will go, but insisted that nothing can be done if the price is right.
“There was big interest in Nathan in the summer and any player that is performing well, and Nathan’s caught the eye in a lot of those England (Under-21) games, there’s bound to be interest,” Adams said on Thursday. “We said in the summer that we don’t want to sell any of our players that we don’t need to sell and it’s still the same. But I’m sure that’ll all surface again in the January window.
“It would be down to me (if we sold him). Valuation and figures is the important thing and money does talk, as we said in the summer. Once you get to certain values and figures you’ve got to take it realistically and see if it’s in the benefit of the club.”
With Liverpool’s current crop of signings failing to impress, Redmond could fit the bill. Young, hungry, English and already tried his hand in the Premier League, could Redmond be off to Liverpool in January?
