Roberto Mancini is ready to once again fight for Robin Van Persie. When in charge of Manchester City in 2012, the Italian tried to lure the Dutchman to the Etihad, however, the former Arsenal man chose United over their rivals.
Nevertheless, Mancini has not given up hope of working with the Dutch striker and is preparing to bring in Van Persie to Inter Milan in the summer according to reports from the Telegraph.
Van Persie will only have one year left on his contract at Old Trafford by the summer and into his 30’s, Van Persie may want to test the water in Italy before hanging up his boots. Mancini’s admiration for the Netherlands man is so profound that he even said City’s failure to win the title and resulted in his sacking was the fact that City failed to secure the transfer of Van Persie.
However, a stumbling block could be that United are ready to pay out a £10 million loyalty bonus to Van Persie by staying at United for the duration of his contract, which could scupper Mancini’s plans to sign him.
Will Van Persie make the move to Inter by the summer or will he remain a Red Devil?
