22-year-old forward Joel Campbell impressed plenty of people at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. However at Arsenal he is considered surplus to requirements and according to The Times, Campbell could be set for a January transfer.
Campbell began his career in his native Chile with Deportivo Saprissa, he moved on loan to Puntarenas before Arsenal purchased him in August 2011. Campbell has since spent time out on loan away from North-London, playing for FC Lorient in France, Real Betis in Spain and Olympiacos last season in Greece.
Joel Campbell has been important everywhere he went and at only 22 has already earned 38 caps for Costa Rica, scoring 10 times. Campbell has appeared twice for Arsenal this campaign but is thought to be desperate to make his name in the Premier League meaning Everton, Swansea City and West Brom have all thrown their hat into the ring for a January buy.
Arsene Wenger is also believed to be tempted to sell on Arsenal’s German forward Lukas Podolski in January after he has made it clear to Wenger and the media he is not happy sitting on the bench being unused. It is understood any money made from these sales will be reinvested to sort out the midfield problems at the Emirates Stadium.
