Arsenal’s midfield has come under some criticisms this season and according to the Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger could be set to change to with the addition of Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko. Alan Pardew is understood to be worried about the offer of a big club.
Moussa Sissoko is 25-years-old and joined Newcastle from Toulouse in January 2013. Sissoko, joined Toulouse in 2003 as a youngster and progressed through the club’s academy before making his professional debut in August 2007. Sissoko developed as a box-to-box midfielder during his 192 league showings for Toulouse and attracted interest from Premier League clubs.
At Newcastle he became part of Alan Pardew’s French contingent and has since made 60 Premier League appearances for the Magpies. Last season, Sissoko played 35 of 38 league matches and the 6ft 2in man now has interest from the form of Arsenal who would love to add him to their sometimes lacklustre midfield.
Pardew spoke about his fears of losing the 27 time capped Frenchman: “We have not had contact from anybody else or heard from anybody else, but I take the point (he could be a target for others). He is playing for a club where big clubs have come before and taken players away. I understand that so therefore, I guess, he is a player they will be looking at. That’s all I can say because he has been terrific for us.
Newcastle fans, will losing Sissoko be a massive blow for you? Arsenal fans do you want him?
