Arsenal are ready to bolster their midfield options with a January transfer raid. The Gunners are looking to sign Southampton star, Morgan Schneiderlin for £15m according to reports from the Express.
The Gunners tried to lure in the Frenchman during the summer, but Southampton wouldn’t budge despite their mass exodus. Schneiderlin made it no secret that he wanted to depart St Mary’s, but has remained at the club nonetheless. Their impressive start to the season has once again thrown a spanner in the works for Arsenal who are wanting to bring in the midfielder in January.
Schneiderlin has said that he will leave the club if Southampton cannot achieve European football this season, but will be jump ship as early as January? With Arsenal experts at qualifying for the Champions League, surely they are a safe bet to join?
Koeman has said on the interest: “Keeping Morgan here will not be easy. We will have to see what happens.”
And the Frenchman admitted last month: “A career passes quickly and I want to play for a big club. Today I am at Southampton, it’s going well.
“We’ll see at the end of the season if [a transfer] will happen. If we have qualified for the Champions League, I will make the choice.”
Will Schneiderlin join Arsenal in January? Or will he remain a Saint?
