Chelsea have been rumoured for months and months to be on the verge of losing Eden Hazard. Well… they aren’t, they may however be losing Thorgan Hazard, Eden’s brother, so breathe a sigh of relief Blues’ fans!
According to the London Evening Standard Thorgan Hazard, who is on loan at German club Borussia Mönchengladbach is ready to give up on his Chelsea Premier League dream. Since joining the Bundesliga side on loan he had played 12 times in the league over 20 times in all competitions, scoring 5 times.
Hazard, like his brother, plays attacking midfield and is just 21-years-old but he is yet to feature for the Chelsea first time since joining from Lens in 2012, at the same time as Eden Hazard moved to Stamford Bridge. Thorgan graduated the Lens youth academy and moved from France after making 14 league appearances for the club. Upon switching to Chelsea he was sent straight out on loan to Belgium with Zulte Waregem for whom he played 73 league matches for in 2 campaigns there.
Thorgan Hazard was awarded the Zulte Player of the Year award in 2013/14, netting 17 times in 53 games in all competitions. He is already enjoying life in Germany and has been quoted as saying: “It’s an option to stay at Gladbach longer. But it’s just too early to talk about it now. The decision will be made towards the end of the season. I feel great here.”
Is there life outside of a career at Chelsea for Thorgan Hazard? Definitely so! Do you think he should leave Stamford Bridge this summer?
