Manchester City are thought to be leading the race to sign young, Argentinean attacking midfielder Joaquin Correa. This is according to the Daily Mail who report that despite interest from PSG, Monaco and Chelsea.
Joaquin Correa is a well known figure to those who play the FIFA or Football Manager video games because of his immense potential and he has been sought by some of Europe’s biggest club’s for a number of years. The 20-year-old is a left footed midfielder who is very creative and has impressed for current Argentine side Estudiantes.
It is understood that Portuguese giants Benfica have bid for Correa in the past in a deal worth around £6m but it is believed that Estudiantes want around £8m for his services. It is also been rumoured that he is set to move to Italian Serie A club Sampdoria on an initial loan deal before deciding about his future.
Manchester City have a plethora of attacking talent that would raise the question if Correa would get his chance in the first-team, a similar dilemma with him for Chelsea. It would seem PSG and AS Monaco would give him a great opportunity for top flight football but however it seems the Premier League is his favoured destination.
