Liverpool’s season took another turn for the worst on Sunday as Manchester United pummelled them 3-0 at Old Trafford. The major clash is a must win for both sides by this time the success was with the Red Devils as Liverpool failed to find the net once again, the same week after being eliminated from the Champions League.
The Daily Express today carry quotes from Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher who has urged Liverpool to sign Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony in the January transfer window. This follows the failure of Liverpool’s £16m summer buy Mario Balotelli, the lack of impact of fellow new boy Rickie Lambert and the recurring injuries surrounding England talisman Daniel Sturridge.
Wilfried Bony is Swansea City’s 6ft, heavyweight star up top who has scored 24 Premier League goals in 50 showings since his record £12m move to South Wales in the summer of 2013. Bony began his career with Issia Wazi and moved on to Czech side Sparta Prague. At Dutch club Vitesse Arnheim he netted an impressive 46 in 65 Eredivisie matches earning him a move to the Premier League.
Now former Reds’ defender Jamie Carragher has said about bringing Bony to Liverpool: “I hope Liverpool sign him. If Liverpool sign [Mario] Balotelli for £16m, Bony is worth £20m or £25m. I wish Liverpool got him this summer and I hope they’re looking at him in the future.”
Swansea City fans, will the Ivory Coast international leave you? Liverpool fans do you want Wilfried Bony?
