Liverpool’s 2014/15 campaign was supposed to be one of building upon the successes of last season’s 2nd place and return to the Champions League. However last week Liverpool were eliminated from the Champions League and on Sunday they were taken apart by Manchester United in a 3-0 defeat.

Now according to the Daily Mirror, with pressure growing on manager Brendan Rodgers, it seems Ajax boss Frank De Boer wants the Liverpool job. De Boer actually turned down the role in 2012 but now his twin brother Ronald told Fox Sports: “If Liverpool come now he would certainly think about it. He would certainly not close the door immediately, like he did two years ago.”

Frank De Boer was a defender during his playing days, notably appearing for Ajax and Barcelona as well as short spells with Galatasaray, Rangers and in Qatar. He represented his country Netherlands on 112 occasions and then joined the Ajax set up as a youth coach upon retirement. After time as Netherlands assistant manager too, he was given the Ajax managerial job in December 2010.

Liverpool have been impressed by De Boer who has taken charge of 197 matches as Ajax boss, winning 117 of them at 59% win percentage. Liverpool have a big decision to make if they are to relieve Brendan Rodgers from his position, Reds fans with mixed views on the subject. What do you think? Should Rodgers get longer to turn things around or is Frank De Boer the man for Anfield?
