Norwich City fans will be hoping this is merely speculation, but Brendan Rodgers is said to have lined up his replacement for Simon Mignolet and it comes in the form of John Ruddy.
Mignolet has been dropped “indefinitely” by Rodgers after a handful of uninspiring performances. With Brad Jones now the only other recognised keeper, Liverpool will be hunting down a new keeper in January.
It appears John Ruddy’s name is at the top of the wishlist according to the Daily Star. Ruddy who has been capped by England is currently in the Championship with Norwich City. The former Everton keeper has also come under criticism in recent weeks after a few fumbles, but it seems Liverpool see him as the ideal replacement. Ruddy has been a sensation since moving to the Norfolk club but risk losing him to a club who have such prestige to their name. A move in January would leave City in a difficult scenario, chasing a new keeper of Ruddy’s ilk.
Norwich boss Neil Adams has already revealed he will not sell any of his players, but his hand may be forced should Liverpool cough up the big bucks for the City star. With the £8m mark brandished across Ruddy, will the Canaries reject the offer or take the money and look to bring in someone else?
