Liverpool defender, Glen Johnson faces a month on the sidelines after sustaining a groin injury during Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester United according to reports from Sky Sports.
The full-back was replaced during the first half by Kolo Toure and it looks as if the England defender has suffered a muscle tear.
Johnson, who is out of contract in June has been subject to speculation insisting he will soon be on his way out of Anfield. The 30-year-old has revealed he is open to a new move and is in no rush to sign a new contract with Liverpool.
The former Chelsea defender is now facing a second significant spell out this season after missing almost six weeks with a thigh injury in the autumn. However, Rodgers will have plenty of cover in the wide areas with Alberto Moreno, Javi Manquillo and Jon Flannagan who is set to return from injury, all able to step in.
With Rodgers under pressure, he will bemoan the Johnson injury as he looks to turn things around at Anfield.
