QPR – Taarabt drama finally coming to an end?

QPR’s long running issues with midfielder Adel Taarabt could be coming to an end in January. That is according to TalkSport who think Serie A club Atalanta want Taarabt.

25-year-old Adel Taarabt spectacularly fell out with manager Harry Redknapp who accused him of being a few stone overweight. Taarabt then went to a national newspaper taking his top off to prove he wasn’t meaning QPR’s owner had to step in to stop the pair’s public feud. With an expensive contract at Loftus Road, QPR need to get him off the books as soon as possible.

Taarabt began his career with the Lens youth academy, breaking into the first team but swiftly being purchased by Tottenham Hotspur after a loan spell. Needing first team football, QPR took Taarabt on loan where he played 7 times at the end of the 2008/09 campaign, followed by a whole season in the Championship for 2009/10. QPR paid £1m to make the deal permanent and the maverick has since played 102 times in the league for the hoops.

In 2013/14, Fulham and Milan offered Adel Taarabt loan opportunities as he failed to reconcile with the QPR faithful and the club have been looking to get rid of him ever since. Atalanta, who sit in 16th in Serie A, are interested in the 16 capped Moroccan but would have to negotiate on the transfer fee because of their financial position making a loan the most likely switch.

QPR fans, would you be disappointed to see the talented Taarabt finally leave or do you think it is best to cut your losses?
