Liverpool – Karim Benzema targeted again!

Liverpool and Karim Benzema can’t seem to shake the link from each other. Over the summer, the Reds were consistently linked with Benzema until he signed a new contract with Real Madrid but the Daily Express understand Liverpool may now bid in January.

27-year-old Karim Benzema began his youth career in his native France with the Lyon academy. He graduated to the B team as a hard working forward players, making his professional debut for the first team in December 2004. Benzema played 112 league fixtures for Lyon, scoring 43 times and earning a big move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in July 2009 for an initial €35m.

Benzema has shone at Real Madrid which consistent goals, even with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale behind him. In 172 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid he has netted 80 goals, 125 in 258 in all competitions. However Karim Benzema has been rumoured to be looking for a new challenge away from Spain meaning Premier League club can prepare to swoop.

The Express believe Liverpool would have to bid around £50m to get Real Madrid talking. Carlo Ancelotti though is willing to listen to offers as he targets Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero. Liverpool meanwhile are desperate for goals with Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing to impress and Daniel Sturridge still out injured.
