Arsenal fans have been clear that their club must strengthen in the January transfer window. According to the Daily Mirror they are set to do that with the addition of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United.

Arsenal are interested in 25-year-old Moussa Sissoko because of the fine performances he has turned out for Newcastle since joining the club in January 2013. Sissoko began his career with Toulouse in France and after graduating their youth academy, made his professional debut in August 2007.

Sissoko played 192 league games for Toulouse, the midfielder scoring 20 times and earning himself a reputation amongst some of Europe’s best clubs. Newcastle won the race to his signature and signed Toulouse’s key man where he established himself in the Premier League with 62 appearances. Sissoko is an Arsenal fan and now Newcastle will be seeking £16m before they enter negotiations with Arsene Wenger.

Sissoko has said “I have ambition. My goal is to play at the best clubs, playing the Champions League, win trophies, but today I am a Magpie and I am very happy. Arsenal were my favourite club when I was young and my idol was Patrick Vieira. I have always loved this club and I still love them.” The 27 capped French international has shone at attacking midfield but can play deeper which will suit Arsenal.

Arsenal fans would you be happy with Sissoko? Newcastle fans must your club try everything to hold onto him?
