Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are set to do battle over West Bromwich Albion’s starlet Saido Berahino. That is according to TalkSport who believe the youngster wants to leave The Hawthorns.
21-year-old Berahino was born in Burundi but moved to England at the age of 10. He joined the West Brom youth academy in 2004 and graduated the system via some loan spells with Northampton Town, Brentford and Peterborough United. Berahino made his West Brom first team debut in August 2013, scoring a hat-trick to sink Newport County in the League Cup.
Berahino has since gone on to feature in 44 Premier League ties for the Baggies, scoring 12 times. Berahino’s mighty performances for West Brom have shot him into contention for a full England place. With 10 caps in 13 Under-21 performances for his adopted nation, Roy Hodgson called him up to the November international squad where he failed to feature.
TalkSport believe Saido Berahino is now willing to leave the club where he began his career with contract talks stalling. The forward has interest from both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur who both are looking to improve their options going forwards. Will either side bid in January and secure the signature of this future England star?
Liverpool, Spurs and West Brom fans, what are your views on this?
