West Bromwich Albion fans have had a tough time of it recently. With 7 losses in their last 9 matches, the Baggies sacked Alan Irvine yesterday. Saido Berahino has been a major positive of their difficult season but according to the Daily Mail he is off to either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur.
West Brom value Berahino at £25m, a figure deemed too high by both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. The Daily Mail believe that Liverpool are in pole position though with Berahino ready to leave The Hawthorns, the place where he first made his name.
Berahino moved to England at the age of 10 and joined the West Bromwich Albion academy in 2004. The forward had loan spells with Northampton Town, Brentford and Peterborough United before graduating the West Brom youth system. In 2013/14 Berahino represented the Baggies 32 times in the Premier League but only scored 5 goals. This campaign however has been full of goals, netting 7 in 18 league showings so far.
The 21-year-old has shone for England Under-21s with 10 goals in 13 caps and is thought to be on the verge of a full Roy Hodgson capping for the first team. Liverpool are desperate to bring the youngster to Anfield and lead the race for his signature whilst Mauricio Pochettino would love to add him to his forward line at White Hart Lane.
West Brom fans, is it vital you hold onto Saido Berahino? Liverpool and Tottenham supporters, do you think you can attract him?
