Wilfried Bony joined Swansea City the summer of 2013 and has since shone in the Premier League. The Ivorian is now wanted by some of the division’s top clubs including Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Daily Telegraph link Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini to the hitman who is valued at £30m by Swansea City. There was talk the Citizens were set to activate Bony’s £19m release clause but the striker signed a new contract in November that removed this meaning the fee would be much higher in January.
Chelsea meanwhile are linked by The Times who report the fee would only be around £20m but still see Premier League champions Manchester City leading the race. Chelsea allowed Fernando Torres to move on this winter but still have Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba who can lead the line meaning their need for Bony is less.
Wilfried Bony became Swansea City’s record signing in July 2013 when he signed for the Swans for £12m. Bony has since scored 24 times in 53 Premier League appearances, following a fantastic record at Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem of 46 strikes in 65 league matches. At only 26-years-old, Bony has plenty of years ahead of him making him a worthwhile investment for any club willing to pay out big cash.
Swansea City fans, do you think you can hold onto the 32 time capped Ivory Coast international? Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool fans… Do you want Bony?
