Liverpool fans are set to be handed a piece of good news at the start of 2015 as Belgium international Divock Origi is ready to join the Reds early. The Liverpool Echo report that the fee will be around £3m to make it happen.
Divock Origi began his professional football career at the Genk youth academy in his native Belgium. In 2010 Origi moved across the border to France with Lille where he graduated their youth system to the first team. At only 19-years-old, the forward who can play on the wing, is a hot prospect in the sport with Liverpool winning the race to his signature in the summer.
Origi has 40 Ligue 1 showings under his belt for Lille with 6 strikes in those appearances. It was at the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 that Origi shot to fame with some impressive matches for Belgium. Liverpool paid £10m for his services but agreed to let him continue at Lille until the end of the 2014/15.
However with Liverpool struggling for goals this campaign, they are desperate to bring in the 12 capped international for a fee of £3m for an early release. Origi has had a torrid time of things in France so far this season meaning the forward is just as desperate as the Reds to begin his Anfield career.
Liverpool fans, can Divock Origi reignite your 2014/15 season?
