Julian Draxler is one of the hottest wing prospects in world football at only 21-years of age. Arsenal have been tracking him for a number of seasons but now it seems Manchester City will win the race to his signature.

According to the Daily Star, Manuel Pellegrini is readying a bid of £25m for the German international who is a World Cup winner following the summer tournament in Brazil 2014.

Draxler had some time at the youth systems of BV Rentfort and SSV Buer before moving to the Schalke academy where he completed his development. After 10 years in the system he made his Bundesliga debut back in January 2011 becoming the fourth youngest Bundesliga player ever. Now with 107 Bundesliga matches under his belt and 17 goals in that time, it seems he may be ready to move to pastures new, namely the Premier League.

Manchester City had been looking to sell unwanted defender Matija Nastasic to Schalke this window but it now seems they want Draxler from the Germans. Arsenal were in poll position but Arsene Wenger will have to be ready to fight for Draxler’s signature as the current Premier League title holders will surely become favourites.

Arsenal and Manchester City fans, why should the 15 capped international join you instead of the other side? Is Draxler ready for the rigours of the Premier League?
