West Brom striker, Saido Berahino has revealed as to why he did not celebrate any of his 4 goals against Gateshead in the F.A. Cup Third Round tie.
The England striker said to BBC Sport “I was just handling business and acting professionally and that’s it,” said Berahino, who has been linked with a January move away from the club.
“There’s no need for me to explain myself on not celebrating goals.”
Berahino is a wanted man by many Premier League clubs, including the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham. With speculation mounting, Baggies fans were beginning to fear that their star man was unsettled and ready to depart the Hawthorns.
However, the 21-year-old has quashed such rumours and insists he is a West Brom player.
“I just have to do what I do on the pitch,” said Berahino. “I’m a West Bromwich Albion player and I’ve just got to perform for them and try to get as many goals as I can and contribute to wins.
“It’s not really difficult because I just ignore the stories and I don’t really read anything into it.
“Newspapers have said bad things about me so I’m not really fussed what they have to say about where I’m going or what will happen. I just ignore it all.”
Will Berahino remain a Baggie until the end of the season? Or will he be picked up in January?
