Aston Villa fans are desperate for their club to hold on to important midfielder Fabian Delph as his contract is set to expire in the summer. However Delph is stalling on a new deal and now the Daily Mirror believe Tottenham Hotspur will be just £3m for his services.
Fabian Delph is 25-years-old and was born in Bradford before joining their academy for a year in 2000. Delph then moved on to Leeds United’s youth system and graduated to the first team in May 2007. After 46 Leeds United league appearances he was purchased by Aston Villa and given a Premier League chance by the Midlands club.
Delph did return shortly to Leeds United on loan but the midfielder is now an established Aston Villa figure playing 95 Premier League games and scoring 3 times. His fine showings have been noticed by England boss Roy Hodgson who gave him his national team debut in 2014 with Delph since having earned 3 caps.
Both Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers want Delph who will be available on a free transfer in the summer. However Aston Villa won’t want to lose a talented figure on a free so will be prepared to negotiate in January with Tottenham now favourites to snatch him at just £3m.
Where do you think Fabian Delph will end up?
