The Championship is blessed with a number of starlets who take to the field each week, but will these 5 gems be snapped up by bigger fish?
1.Bakary Sako has been a sensation for the newly promoted Wolves this season. 7 goals to his name and a constant threat in attacking areas, Kenny Jackett will have to be ready to quash any bids that come his way in January. The big unit of Sakho has destroyed defences in the Championship so far this season and it looks as though the 26-year-old is ready to ply his trade in the Premier League. Touted with a move to the Prem, will Wolves be able to fight off potential suitors and keep hold of their squads biggest asset.
2. Ben Marshall, a player who oozes technical class has been lapping up the plaudits this season at Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder’s impressive performances of late has placed him on the list for “Championship Player of the Month” in September. 5 goals to his name and always looking to score or assist, Blackburn have a true talent on their books. Already considered a player with Premier League quality, surely it is only a matter of time before one of the big boys takes a gamble on the 23-year-old. Renown for his long range strikes, Marshall has the capabilities to stun oppositions with his ferocious finishing and exquisite technical precision. A big future lies ahead for this young English midfielder.
3. Tyrone Mings, has wowed the Portman Road faithful with some scintillating performances for the Suffolk club. The tall, strong, powerful full-back has ignited Ipswich attacks down the left flank. The 21-year-old was on the receiving end of a £2.5m bid from Crystal Palace on deadline-day, but McCarthy rejected the offer to retain the services of the defender. Mings has been linked with an illustrious move to Arsenal in recent weeks after being claimed as one the leading defenders in the Championship; can Ipswich keep hold of their man whom they signed for just £10,000?
4. Norwich City have a real talent on their books in the form of, Josh Murphy. The England U20 international has been touted as one of the most exciting players to come through the Norwich City youth system in many years. Murphy is maturing well beyond his years and bagged his first league goal for the Canaries away at Blackpool earlier this season. Blessed with electrifying pace and a hunger to take on defenders, the Carrow Road faithful are calling for Murphy to be starting games after his shining performances. A player who has potential to be a future England star, can the Yellow Army hold onto this young prodigy?
5. At just 17, Patrick Roberts is turning heads already at Fulham. The bright, attacking player has been labelled as a future Premier League star; whether that be with Fulham or another side. Roberts emerged onto the scene at the end of last season and caught the eye with his incredible poise, balance and ability with the ball at his feet. Not quite the finished article, but with such promise at a tender age, could a Premier League club sculpt Roberts into the real deal?
