Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers has hinted that the Merseyside club may look to cut summer signing, Divock Origi’s season long loan move to Lille short, and bring him to Anfield.
The Belgian striker was a sensation at last years World Cup and Liverpool were quick to snap up the 19-year-old. However, the deal agreed was that Liverpool purchased the striker, but Origi was immediately loaned back to Lille until the end of the season. Now, with the striking issues at Anfield, Rodgers has hinted he may cut short Origi’s loan and draft him into the Liverpool line up.
Rodgers told BBC Sport – “There has been some discussion but there is nothing to report,” Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said.
“The agreement was for him to stay there so we will see how that works. If not we have the players here and we will go with what we have got.”
With Daniel Sturridge still nursing a long term injury and Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert just managing 4 goals between them all season, how long can Rodgers ignore the cries to sign a new striker?
Will the £10m Origi be at Liverpool in January?
