Manchester United are set to allow Scottish international Darren Fletcher leave Old Trafford as Sky Sports understand both Valencia and West Ham United want the midfielder.
Darren Fletcher is 30-years-old and has never played for a club other than Manchester United since joining in 1995 as a youth player. In 2003 they graduated their academy and the midfielder has since played 223 Premier League games for the Red Devils, scoring 18 times. With over 340 showings in all competitions for Manchester United it seems Fletcher may be prepared to more on for more first-team football.
Fletcher’s 2011/12 and 2012/13 campaigns were seriously disrupted by ulcerative colitis, a medical condition that required surgery to fix. Sir Alex Ferguson kept his faith in the player who has earned 8 Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League as well as 8 other trophies.
Louis Van Gaal though is not thought to consider Darren Fletcher as part of his plan and that sees both Valencia and West Ham hunting his signature. Fletcher has 6 months remaining on his contract at Old Trafford meaning he can leave on a free at the end of the season but he may be ready to depart in January if a move arises.
Manchester United fans, will you be sad to see the 66 capped Scottish international leave?
