West Brom chairman, Jeremy Peace has taken a strong stand ahead of speculation surrounding Albion’s prise asset, Saido Berahino. The words, “not for sale”, seem to fall upon deaf ears it seems; but Peace is making sure there are no mistakes in his message.
The chairman told BBC Sport, “I said in the autumn that the club had no interest in selling Saido and that remains the case,” Peace said.
“If manager Tony Pulis decides otherwise, Berahino is too important to us to consider trading.”
With 14 goals in 26 matches this season, there is no surprise as to why Berahino has been touted with a move away from the Hawthorns. In December, West Brom dismissed reports of a £23m move to the Reds for Berahino as an “entire fabrication” and it appears Peace is making the message again.
Berahino is not for sale.
