Brendan Rodgers has had to remain tight lipped over the future of England prodigy, Raheem Sterling. The youngster has been amongst speculation that suggests he is set to join Real Madrid in the summer.
However, the Liverpool boss has quashed such rumours and has hinted that a new deal could be in the pipeline for the 20-year-old.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Rodgers said, “It is something the club are speaking with his representatives on and I would think that would be concluded imminently,” he said.
“The player is very happy. It (the delay) is nothing to do with Raheem. He wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon.”
The 20-year-old still has over two years left to run on his current contract but he has been linked with a possible move away from Anfield.
Will Sterling put pen to paper on a new deal for the Merseyside club?
