Bolton Wanderers boss, Neil Lennon is looking to further his striking force by adding Cardiff City striker, Adam Le Fondre to the mix. So far, Lennon has snapped up Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen to the Trotters attack and has now identified Le Fondre as a man who can help his side further.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Lennon said, “We’re hoping that will be concluded this week. He’ll not be ready for tomorrow but we’re hoping he’ll be ready for the Wolves game.
“We’re very pleased, if we can get it done. He’s a player I’ve admired for a long time. He has a great goalscoring record at every level, even in the Premier League (for Reading) he had 12 in 17 for a team that got relegated. It speaks volumes to me about his goalscoring ability.
“He’s the type of player we need, I need a box player. The amount of chances we create and don’t convert – I think Adam will benefit from that. So if we can get over the line on this one I’ll be absolutely delighted.
“I think that was the attraction for him as well, being around his family. I think there was a bit of a disconnection when he was at Cardiff. I think he will enjoy being back in the north west and hopefully we’ll get the best out of him for that.”
Could Le Fondre be added to the fold at Bolton?
