Chelsea – Douglas Costa targeted by the Blues

Chelsea are looking to add another Costa to their side to join Diego Costa. According to Goal.com, Brazilian Douglas Costa is a target for the Blues.

Chelsea were linked last week to Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado but now it seems Costa is another man on their shopping list, the 24-year-old attacking-midfielder currently playing for Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine.

The issues for Chelsea though remain the £22m price tag on both the players. Douglas Costa began his career at Brazilian club Gremio where he graduated their academy to appear in 28 first team games for the club. After that Costa was sold to Shakhtar for €6m and he has since played 130 league matches, scoring 26 times and winning 5 Ukrainian Premier League titles.

Douglas Costa was known to be unsettled at Shakhtar when Ukraine was hit by violence in 2014 but as the situation has calmed, so has Costa’s desire to depart the club. That said, Chelsea and the Premier league would provide an attraction for him or Juan Cudrado.

Do you think Chelsea will sign either of these players before the end of the January transfer window?
