Italian striker, Antonio Cassano has now become a free agent after his contract with Parma was mutually terminated, BBC Sport has revealed.
The 32-year-old has made 20 appearances for the Serie A strugglers this season, scoring five goals. Parma are bottom of the table, 10 points from safety and the club revealed the departure of the former A.C. Milan and Real Madrid star, “Parma have today reached a mutual agreement with Antonio Cassano to cancel his playing contract,” said a statement on Parma’s website.
In a bizarre story, Cassano hadn’t been picked by his country since Euro 2012 but lost 10kg by eating less focaccia to earn a recall.
A player with undoubted quality when he wants to turn it on, will Cassano get one more opportunity to play in the big time before hanging up his boots?
Who will come in for the striker?
