When Stoke City signed Bojan in the summer, the footballing world acknowledged Mark Hughes and his coaching staff had a tough task getting the best out of the Spaniard. The former Barcelona forward had failed to fulfil potential so far in his career but Bojan has flourished on late in the Premier League.

However as the Stoke Sentinel today reports, Stoke City fans are today panicking about the fitness of their new star. The 24-year-old picking up what appears to be a serious injury in the FA Cup against Rochdale. It is understood Bojan could be out for a minimum six weeks with a potential nine month injury lay off a real fear.

Bojan Krkic joined Barcelona’s prestigious youth academy, La Masia, in 1999 and developed fully until he graduated to the Barcelona B side. Bojan broke into the full Barça set up in 2007 and eventually went on to play 104 La Liga games, scoring 24 goals with 41 strikes in 163 matches in all competitions.

Began moved on from the Nou Camp to play in Italy with Roma and then AC Milan before a loan spell in 2013/14 with Eredivisie side Ajax. Despite 24 league games he only scored 4 times and failed to impress enough to be signed on meaning Stoke could complete his deal for just €1.8m.

I for one am delighted to see Bojan flourishing in Britain and really hope his injury isn’t a serious as some seem to believe. Stoke City fans, how worried are you?
