Tottenham Hotspur fans have been desperate for their club to get rid of expensive African forward Emmanuel Adebayor. The mega waged striker has been linked to a stunning move to PSG according to the Daily Telegraph.
Emmanuel Adebayor earns around £100,000-per-week at White Hart Lane but the 30-year-old is completely out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino, despite an important start to the season under his new boss. With Spurs wanting Adebayor out it seems no loan fee will be paid as they seek to get him off the wage bill.
Adebayor began his professional football career with Metz in France and after graduating their academy he netted 15 goals in 44 league matches. He moved on to AS Monaco where he scored 18 in 78 league games, earning him a move to Arsenal in January 2006 for £3m. Adebayor was likened to Nwankwo Kanu, Arsenal striking legend and proceeded to net 46 times in 104 Premier League showings.
Following that Adebayor moved on to Manchester City and then Real Madrid on loan. Spurs took him on loan for the 2011/12 campaign where he scored 17 in 33 Premier League appearances and that earned him a permanent £5m deal. In recent months though, the 63 capped Togo international has made his unhappiness unclear in London and openly criticised the club’s home support.
Spurs fans, is a move to PSG too good to be true for Adebayor?
