Ever since Ronnie Wood ran off with his 18-year old mistress Ekaterina Ivanova, I have been keeping my eye on the new couple’s outfits. Throughout history, scandals have been defined by fashion; Princess Diana’s tiger-print swimsuit, Heather Mills’ patchwork suit, Monica Lewinsky’s ‘Blue Dress.’
It struck me that Ronnie and Ivanova were often wearing outfits with a similar theme. On the left, we can see that one week, they both indulged in tie-dye print and during this week, they wore on-trend plaid/tartan jackets.
What do you think of couples in matching outfits? Yay or Nay?
Take our poll after the jump!

Clothing, Designer Spotlight, Gallery, Outfit picks
By Will Reid on October 27th, 2008
This gallery showcases some of the hottest street style looks I’ve seen in quite a while. Granted, some of the photography is a bit shifty (and the background of sun-washed Camden during the summer is enough to provoke resentment from most Brits,) but these looks are on-trend and rival a lot of professionally styled magazine editorials.
Brandish loves street style and there will definitely be more to come in the next few months. Just prepare for rain drops on the camera lens.

A political campaign seems to be the ‘It’ accessory of this season. After Tyra Banks posing as Michelle Obama in September’s Harper’s Bazaar, Interview has pulled in Josh Brolin to rock the presidential trend for their latest cover. Josh is actually playing President George Bush in an up-coming film, titled ‘Bush,’ directed by Oliver Stone. However, on the cover he is photographed by Mikael Jansson.
Do you think that the fashion industry is taking the politics trend too far or do you think it’s a necessary evil at a time like this. Tell us on our Facebook page!

I want Barack Obama to become the President of the USA. I do. Honestly.
However, telling you guys is enough for me and I don’t feel the need to have his name plastered across each of my outfits. Benji Madden turned up to a Diesel’s 30th Birthday in New York having heavily invested in the trend for Obama-slogan clothes and his political tuppence worth came in the form of a print tee.

This season is one of continued focus on shape; the tulip skirt, the peplum, the over-sized collar. I have always leaned towards a slimmer-fit for hoodies and trousers but this season I plan to try something new. This ‘Panda‘ hoodie from Bape fits the bill perfectly, it is quite baggy and voluminous but it has a fitted waist resulting in a highly fashionable silhouette.
There are two types of the hoodie (one in fleece and one in cotton) and four possible colours (although the black is exclusive to the Bape store in Aoyama, Japan! Buy now for pre-Pharrell originality!

P. Diddy has graced the cover of L’Uomo Vogue‘s latest issue and I’m not sure what to think. Not someone who I associate with great style or fashion prowess (despite the cologne and menswear line,) Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs looks a bit naff in my opinion.
But hey, at least he’s lost the suNglasses for once! Tell us what you think by e-mailing isabelle@shinymedia.com

I’m currently sitting in a small room in India with a fan spinning in an attempt to cool me down and a mosquito net blanketing the balcony door. I have to admit it’s pretty hard to imagine wearing trench coats right now. But, I’m a proud Brit and nothing is going to get in the way of my winter-wardrobe appreciation.
This Outfit Pick shows you how to rock a modern, edgy winter look that will have you feeling protected and warm but not boring and hoping no-one spots you in your M&S beanie.
The trench adds a sharp shot of buzzing colour and the t-shirt and boots add an urban gypsy vibe that’s very on-trend. The umbrella…well, that’s just for fun.

Annie Leibovitz, Sean Connery, the Bahamas, Marc Jacobs and plenty of Louis Vuitton- sounds like a pretty enticing mix, doesn’t it? Well no longer must it remain a fantasy as days after Brandish giving you the gossip,WWD has released the ex-007′s advert for the French luxury-fashion house. After Keith Richards and Francis Ford Coppola, Leibovitz has again captured a mature cool that is slowly abolishing the bling/label-whore mood often synonymous with Vuitton’s accessories. The image above tells that “some journeys turn into legends” and the campaign is called ‘Core Values,’ emphasising heritage and a more sophisticated, timeless approach to fashion.
In these times of economic crunch, I know that I’ll be looking for pieces to invest in and that might just extend to a collection of these campaign images.

David Walliams, the man who shot to stardom with the launch of Little Britain, has accomplished many things. He’s won a ton of awards, just launched state-side, swam across the English Channel and even been spotted with the likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Kate Moss on his arm. Now, the comedian had decided to write a book for children, ‘The Boy In The Dress,’ about a boy who likes to dress in female clothing and his journey to see the approval of his peers. Illustrated by Quentin Blake, I’m sure it will sell simply on shock factor but it would struggle to be as shocking as this editorial from Parade magazine.
In the editorial, Walliams struts his (hairy) stuff in designer couture in an effort to publicise his latest career move. Oh, dear.
See after the jump for all the photos- and it only gets worse!

I have to admit that despite being a lover of high-fashion millinery from the likes of Stephen Jones and Philip Treacy, I just can’t wear hats. They look truly horrific on me.
But the whole Brandish team is currently infatuated with an item that looks set to take off in the coming months (of snow and cold.) That item is the Trapper Hat.
In this week’s Outfit Pick, I’ve added a few eccentric pieces to a Topman Trapper hat and created a look that anyone could pull of by balancing the quirky tweed bag and dancing brogues with a classic beige trench also from Topman.
Are items you want to see included in a Brandish Outfit Pick? E-mail: isabelle@shinymedia.com!

Andre Benjamin (also known as Andre 3000) is taking part in the latest ‘Declare Yourself’ campaign which urges American youths to cast their vote as to who should be the next President of their country. Christina Aguilera and Jessica Alba also star in the campaign but it’s Andre’s image that has caught my attention.
Gagged with one of his own bow-ties, the campaign tells that “only you can silence yourself.”

Major fashion retailer H&M has got together with Japanese fashion ninjas Comme des Garçons to bring you the latest in affordable fashion. H&M is not new to collaborating with the big wigs of fashion, their ’04 colab with Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld springs immediately to mind, so the new line of clothes has been eagerly awaited for months now and has sprung many an internet debate mostly focusing on the cost of the pieces which are to be expected to be on the pricey side for the rock bottom retailer H&M.
Personally I fear that the prices and the clothes themselves may fall into a no man’s land between the thrifty ubiquity of H&M’s standard line and the high level exclusivity of Comme des Garçon’s, both end’s of the scale cancelling each other out landing the line in a chasm of mediocrity… though, *pause for effect* only time will tell…
Jump through for my menswear highlights of the collection available at select stores worldwide from the 13th of November.

Denim has been rife on the catwalks of this season with many big-name designers putting out denim tuxedos, denim waistcoats and even denim shirts (okay, that’s not too odd.) I, myself, have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this timeless fabric and I think it’s safe to say I’ve explored it thoroughly!
What do you think? Vote in our poll below!

The Kris Van Assche show was bound to attract some of the fash-pack’s best-dressing men and with the help of The Sartorialist, we need not fly to Paris to savour the front-row fashion savoir-faire.
These guys are both rocking fairly androgynous looks and as Isabelle mentioned earlier, it’s no secret that Doc Martens are the industry’s hot (but slowly cooling) item. I like the other man’s over-sized bag but what interests me the most is his headscarf. D&G featured Queen-chic headscarves on their runway last season and being of Scottish origin, I fail to not feel a slight home-sickness when faced with high-fashion previously seen in my gran’s wardrobe.
Fashion inspiration comes when you least expect it!
