This weekend sees Henley Regatta in full swing and if you’re heading down to Boris Johnson’s old constituency you’d better look the part. Comme des Garcons’ plaid jacket will look great teamed with a straw boater and some deck shoes and is perfect for lounging on the banks of the Thames.
The acid-bright check contrasts nicely with the chunky, boxy tailoring and slightly cropped sleeves while the pale cream buttons add a vintage feel. You can get your hands on this coat at Browns for the sale price of £255, tally ho!

Given Material Boy’s Topman Lens collection, you’d assume that every boutique would be snapping at his clothing. It’s an understatement to say that this hasn’t been the case. One of the only places to buy Material Boy is Bespoke Boutique and as luck would have it, they’re having their summer sale. The pick of the bunch is this double breasted jersey jacket.
Made from 90% rayon and 10% lycra, it’s basically a cardigan like material cut into the shape of a coat. Bespoke boutique is a smaller shop and thus sells out a lot quicker than something like Oki-Ni would, so snap this up while you can for £105.

The ASOS ltd 100 collection, their collaboration with designers from London College of Fashion, has been available online since June 16th and most of it has been bought already. Out of the pieces left, the best has to be this Sheepskin drape coat.
Most sheepskin coats stink of 70′s TV cops and John Motson, but this one manages to avoid that smell completely – instead giving off a strong fashion forward whiff. There’s no doubt that this coat is extravagant and would be too much for some people, but it retains a wearability that other fur coats just don’t have. The only downside is the £350 price tag, but if you can afford it then it would make a great standout piece.

Trench coats aren’t hard to come by nowadays but relaxed trenches are another story. You may have been swayed the Phillip Lim trench we featured – until you saw the price. Don’t worry, This B Store trench is more affordable and, dare I say it, better quality.
The lightweight material and roll up sleeves make this a perfect summer item. The fact that its £199 -instead of Phillip Lim’s sale price of £337 – is merely a bonus. It would match well with a nautical look and suits those long days when you need a versatile jacket.

Sometimes a bargain is too good to pass on, regardless of what season the clothing’s designed for. This Yoko Devereaux double breasted cardigan is currently going for $32, which is 75% off the retail price. Other bargains are this trench coat for $49 and this Queen print shirt for $17.
The downside to this near giveaway is that they only ship to the United States and Canada, anyone living elsewhere will have to look at the pictures and dream of wearing these pieces. I’m not sure what’s worse: missing a sale or finding a sale won’t deliver to your neck of the woods. These are the kind of dilemmas that should be going on the Jeremy Kyle show.

Hold your horses, I’m well aware that there’s no need to buy a jacket in the midst of summer. But think about it, with the economy crumbling and the 10p tax rate eating up more of your pay, it’s time to start investing in quality pieces like this APC herringbone jacket.
Whilst the piece does fit with the nautical look, it will undoubtedly be much too hot to wear a jacket. On the bright side, the double breasted trend is set to continue on into next winter at least, so you’ll be buying an item that is in fashion whilst remaining stylish. The price is a very reasonable £159 and it’s available from Start.

With people like the Apprentice’s recently fired Kevin Shaw showing how leather jackets can look bad, it’s becoming more important to get a tailored jacket regardless of what material it’s made from. Gar-De are a New York design collective who aim to ‘reinvent the highest quality materials into innovative designs’. They chose leather for their debut collection and focused exclusively on it.
While you can find any number of ill-fitting leather jackets on the market, finding one that mixes suit-like tailoring with the ubiquitous biker influence is pretty hard to come by. The range becomes available from Autumn, but the price range will be from $1,680 upwards – so start saving now.

Now that many of the classic Adidas styles are back in vogue, the label has chosen to re-release them in its Originals range. But going back has not stopped the company looking forward, as the retro items are being made with environmentally conscious materials.
The Adidas D-Nizza (pictured) is produced in conjunction with the WWF and is supporting the WWF’s One Planet Living – an initiative to help us live within the natural resources of the world. It’s made purely from natural materials and sold in recycled packaging, but keeps all the authentic vintage/70s detailing. Available in khaki only, the track top retails for £60.

Yesterday I posted about Pudel, the London label set up by Lina Österman, a Swedish Central Saint Martins graduate. Coincidentally, Hypebeast have recently found a nice coat designed by another CSM graduate – interstingly enough with the same biker influences as the Pudel zip sweater. Maybe ‘motorcycle jacket construction’ was a compulsory module or something.
Part of Taishi Nobukuni’s environmentally friendly ‘botanika’ label, the hooded coat is lined with organic cotton and a melton wool outer layer.
