Pop Quiz: Which one of these jackets is Dior Homme?

By admin on April 15th, 2008

blks_leather.jpgAnswer: Neither. Although these leathers bear a striking resemblance to those that have featured in Dior Homme collections over the past couple of years, they are in fact the work of Black Scissors, leathercrafters from South Wales who are increasingly building a reputation for their custom tailoring.

Recently, their work has reopened a popular debate.

Uniqlo mini sale

By admin on April 15th, 2008

While we do feature some pricier items here on Brandish, we also do fashion for the masses. So when news of Uniqlo’s mini sale came to us, we had to let you all know about. Focusing exclusively on outerwear, Uniqlo have cut prices of their double breasted trench coat to £29.99 and their cotton jacket to £19.99.

Whilst the cut prices are great and all, the fit on Uniqlo’s double breasted trench coat left a lot to be desired. Maybe I’ve been spoilt by COS’s excellent fit on their trenches, but the UQ coat felt a tad oversized and loose. You may be better off trying them on in store before you get any of these online.

‘Marc Jacobs Surplus’ recycled military goods

By admin on April 13th, 2008

militarymarc.jpgMarc Jacobs has tapped back into the military theme that inspired some of Marc by Marc’s S/S collection last year, with a new range of recycled military goods.

Previews of the ‘Marc Jacobs Surplus’ line include this M-65 and German Mountain duffel bag. The duffel looks great, but might be hard to pull off without looking like you’ve just come back from tour of duty.

Reasonably priced, as you come to expect from M. by M., the jacket is $79 and the bag is $65.

Surface To Air et Justice pour tous

By admin on April 11th, 2008

justicebiker.jpgElectro darlings Justice have announced a collaborative effort with fellow Parisians Surface To Air, for their new clothing line ‘Justice for All’.

Clearly heavily influenced by Xavier de Ronay’s leather jacket fetish, 3 have been designed in a 150 piece run (including a rather nice biker jacket, fuelling the resurgence) along with 2 pairs of jeans.

The limited edition range is set for release at stores in Paris and Brazil, including Surface To Air (obviously), Barneys and Colette. More pictures after the jump.

Poll: Comme Des Garçons jakcet

By admin on April 9th, 2008

browns jacket comme des garcons.jpgLast week’s poll showed how different you all are with no clear winner in the trouser style stakes, this week’s poll is far more clear cut. Comme Des Garçons jacket, yay or nay?

I like the bright jacket and think it would work well teamed with faded. cuffed blue jeans and deck shoes for an ironic take on the Lapo Elkann euro look. Or something.

If looking like a pastiche of a playboy millionaire is something that takes your fancy then snap this jacket up from Browns for £450 and if not, then take the poll and let me know what you think in the comments!
