WISHLIST: Dries Van Noten Transparent Shirt

driesvannotenshirt.jpg

For those of you who haven’t watched Amy Winehouse’s performance at Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday, she does this thing where she pulls on her skirt while she sings. She looks to me a victim of ‘Summer Spirit.’

You know what I mean- when all you want to wear are your swimshorts and the thought of a buttoned up shirt and trousers makes you itch. Don’t worry Amy, I have found the answer to this shared problem and it comes in the form of Dries Van Noten’s transparent shirt.

Visionaire 54 SPORT- A Lacoste Tribute

visionairelacoste.jpg

The latest edition of Visionaire has been outed as a tribute to Lacoste’s 75th Anniversary. So far, the infamously expensive Visionaire collection has seen issues made of puzzles and vinyl records but we are now being treated to the ‘first wearable issue.’ Confused? Let me explain.

Brandish’s Fashion Word of The Day…Crarem

crarem.jpg

For those of you wondering where I have disappeared off to recently- the answer is a strange place called Abernethy in Northern Scotland where innocent people are made to compete in equally strange outdoor activities. And not the X-rated kind.

Matches Sale: Phillip Lim

philliplim.jpg

Depending on your financial situation, you may be looking at the fact that sales are getting larger by the minute as a gift or a curse. The Matches sale is the largest yet, although I’m sure they’ll be a bigger one next week. To accommodate its size, I’ve decided to focus on a designer at a time – this post will focus on Phillip Lim. Check after the jump for info on these items.

A.P.C Summer Sale

apcsale.jpg

With Liberty and Men A La Mode all starting their summer sales recently, APC have got in on the act with their summer sale. As APC’s stock tends to swerve between ‘pre-order’ and ‘out of stock’, it’s fair to say that this sale will run out of stock pretty quickly. I would usually do the whole pick of the bunch thing, but as I’m in love with pretty much every item available at APC, they’d be no point.

There’s an embarrassment of riches on the 10 essentials front as the staff of Fantastic Man, Purple Fashion and GQ Style all chip in with their lists. Boxfresh and Raleigh collaborate on BMX bike

boxmx.jpg

I only post this because it caught my eye over on Highsnobiety as being steeped in nostalgia. Boxfresh and Raleigh are two brands that were massively prevalent in my younger days. They’ve come together for to create a BMX bike that has been released in a ultra-limited edition run… of 2 (come on now – even that Stussy/Honda collaboration scooter a couple of years ago had 10 units produced). Anyway, it’s all made me want to break out the old BMX and try to bunny hop over a kerb without breaking my back.

Topman’s Black Trouser Project

Love it or hate it, the opening of another Topman in the UK would be met with nothing more than a shrug. In fact, given their ubiquity, it would be met with a half shrug at best. However news that a Topman would open in New York has created so much attention that Topman started the black trouser project to showcase some up and coming designers.
